"Who is your favorite Latin musician, and how has he or she influenced you to continue your studies in music?"

Throughout my life, countless Latin artists from diverse genres have inspired and shaped my musical tastes, as well as fueled my passion for writing, producing, and performing. However, there are a few key musicians whose influence has been so impactful, they continue to inspire me daily to pursue my dream of becoming a producer and artist.
One of those individuals is KEVN, the current and main producer for ELA TAUBERT. KEVN exemplifies the power of collaboration and the vital importance of the behind-the-scenes work that helps an artist grow. He has been with ELA since the very beginning of her career and plays a foundational role in her artistic development—not only as her producer, but also as her guitarist, musical partner, and close collaborator. Seeing KEVN perform with ELA on stage, join her on tour, and even appear in her music videos is incredibly inspiring. He’s not just part of the team—he is the team. Watching him stand beside ELA, holding back tears as they accepted a Latin Grammy, moved me deeply. It was a powerful reminder of how dedication, passion, and love for the craft can lead to beautiful success. I believe KEVN’s influence is what gives ELA’s music its distinct sound, and his creative vision is exactly the kind of producer I aspire to be.
Another major influence is Nico González, a fellow Latin Grammy Foundation scholarship alum. I remember being in my first year at Berklee while Nico and KEVN were in their last. They were already legends to me—arranging shows, producing incredible sessions, and building creative communities. Their example inspired me to study Contemporary Writing & Production (CWP) and Music Production & Engineering (MP&E), just like they did. Because of their path, I knew I wanted to learn it all: producing, engineering, writing, and performing.
Today, Nico is living the dream—touring with Camilo as his guitarist and pianist, producing on his latest album Cuatro, and working on brilliant Latin pop projects like Nicolle Horbath’s Florecer, where I had the honor of contributing vocals and percussion. Nico’s unique sound, dedication, and versatility are exactly the kind of artist-producer I strive to become. He's also developing his own artist project, singing and producing songs that reflect authenticity and artistic freedom. Nico is proof that with hard work, faith in your vision, and an open heart, anything is possible.
Both KEVN and Nico have shown me that your dreams are valid, that you can be both an artist and a producer, and that your story matters. Their paths—rooted in teamwork, passion, and a clear creative identity—continue to motivate me to keep growing and reaching the next level of my career.
I also want to highlight two more incredible artists who have influenced me.
Tony Succar has been one of my biggest inspirations. Not only is he an award-winning producer, but he’s also a phenomenal artist and performer. What I admire most is how he balances being in the studio with being on stage, always surrounded by family and rooted in humility. Since moving to Miami, I’ve had the privilege of working with Tony, and he has taught me so much. His kindness, talent, and tireless work ethic remind me that you can be successful while staying true to who you are—and have a lot of fun while doing it.
KUINVI, another Berklee alum, is one of the few female producers making waves in the Latin music industry. She’s worked on music for artists like Aitana and brings a fresh, bold sound to today’s pop scene. As a woman aspiring to be a leading Latin producer, seeing KUINVI take the reins creatively is deeply empowering. There are still so few female producers in our industry, and KUINVI is paving the way. I want to follow in her footsteps, break barriers, and be part of this new generation of female creatives who are changing the sound of Latin music.
These artists—KEVN, Nico, Tony, and KUINVI—have all shown me different versions of what success looks like: building authentic collaborations, pushing creative boundaries, staying grounded in your values, and believing in your voice. Their journeys have encouraged me to keep studying, keep creating, and keep dreaming big. I hope to one day inspire others the way they’ve inspired me.
